About this solicitation

ABOUT THE COMPREHENSIVE INDUCTION PROGRAM The Delaware Educator Mentoring and Induction Program began during the 1994-1995 school year as a pilot in three school districts. The system was redesigned in 2003 to better meet the needs of new educators across the State. Current research highlights the need to provide even greater support for our new educators to ensure all of Delaware’s students receive a quality education and are college and/or career ready. By providing comprehensive support to new educators, DDOE and the LEAs can work towards increasing educator retention rates, improving teaching practices of new educators, and most importantly, having positive effects on student achievement. The Revised Comprehensive Induction Program (CIP) is a comprehensive, four-year initiative to assist licensed and certified educators with mentoring and professional development. The program is designed to improve teacher retention, enhance teacher quality, and support student achievement. The Comprehensive Induction Program (CIP) can be envisioned as a professional pathway to continued professional learning, leading educators to more effective practices and excellence in teaching.
