The Post Permanency Support Program provides services to families formed through adoption and guardianship in Vermont focusing on needs associated with early trauma, attachment, and normative adoption/permanency themes. Services are generally provided in home and are adoption/guardianship competent and trauma informed. The services are family based, comprehensive regarding the child and family’s needs, and primarily delivered to the parents who are the primary therapeutic support for a child. Support groups are provided throughout Vermont through the PPSP. PPSP links families to the Vermont Consortium for Adoption and Guardianship and other statewide resources. In addition, PPSP provides education to schools and community-based service providers regarding normative adoption/guardianship development and the impact of trauma on child development.
