Request for Designer Services (RFS) Shrewsbury High School Project - Town of Shrewsbury The Town of Shrewsbury, for the Shrewsbury School Department, (“Owner”) is seeking services of a qualified “Designer” as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 7C, Sec. 44 and as further defined by provisions of the RFS as issued, to provide Designer services for design, construction, addition to and/or renovation of the Shrewsbury High School (SHS) Project in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The Owner is requesting the services of a Designer to partner with the Owner during the feasibility study and schematic design phases of the project initially. Subject to the approval of the project by the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”) and further subject to continued funding authorized by the Owner, the contract between the Owner and the Designer may be amended to include Designer Services through design development, construction documents, bid and award, construction, and final closeout of the potential project. A potential approved project may include a renovation of the existing School, a renovation and addition of the existing school and/or new construction. The estimated construction cost of an approved potential project may range from $125,000,000 to $150,000,000 depending upon the solution that is agreed upon by the Owner and the MSBA and that is ultimately approved by a vote of the MSBA. Notice to Proceed for Designer Services is anticipated in August 2026. The combined duration for Feasibility Study and Schematic Design phases of work is estimated to be 18-24 months.
