This project will replace the aging CNG fueling dispensers and install four (4) Twin High Hose Standalone CNG dispensers and dispenser pits at METRO's CNG fueling station. Downtime and fueling efficiencies with the current dispensers continue to deteriorate, resulting in delays, costs and complexity. The original dispensers have a useful life of 12-years per our Transit Asset Management plan. At the time of the procurement the dispensers will have exceeded their useful life. Reliable fueling systems are both mission and safety critical to METRO’s operation.

Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study in Akron, Ohio is using this solicitation to procure transportation work. Public buyers typically advertise this kind of work as an Invitation for Bids (IFB), Request for Proposals (RFP), or Request for Qualifications (RFQ), depending on whether the selection is price-driven, qualifications-driven, or both. Bidders responding to a transportation solicitation in Ohio are generally expected to provide proof of liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage, hold any state license or trade certification required for the scope of work, and post performance and payment bonds for contracts above the agency's threshold.
Federal-aid funding flowing through programs such as the Federal Highway Administration, FEMA, or the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act brings additional compliance requirements on solicitations like this one, including Davis-Bacon prevailing wage, Buy America provisions where applicable, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goals set by the issuing agency. PublicBidSearch indexes this solicitation alongside other open bids in Ohio so contractors and vendors can compare active opportunities by category, agency, or location without monitoring each procurement portal individually.
To submit a bid for this IFB, review the full solicitation documents for Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study's exact scope of work, submission format, and any mandatory pre-bid meeting or site visit. Responses must be received before the June 25, 2026 deadline — public agencies routinely reject late submissions regardless of cause. Confirm how the agency accepts responses — through an electronic procurement portal, as a sealed hard-copy bid, or by email — because the required method varies by agency and a non-conforming submission can be disqualified. Vendors that have not previously contracted with Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study should confirm whether registration on the agency's vendor system is required to be eligible for award.
