CE 26-16 RFQ For District Court Cases Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Douglas County Contract Attorneys for 2026 District Court Cases Resolution No. CE 26-16 Description and Scope of Services: Douglas County seeks to contract with qualified attorneys to prosecute cases on behalf of the State in District Court misdemeanor matters, including show cause, probation violation, sentence modification hearings, gross misdemeanor and appeals of District Court rulings in Superior Court. Additionally, the attorney will evaluate cases, make settlement offers, negotiate with defense counsel, prepare for and go to trial. Compensation $11,000.00 per month; The expectation is that the attorney will prepare for and manage dockets on Tuesdays (up to 6 hours) and Wednesday afternoon (approx.1-2 hours), and prepare for and manage trials if set, on alternate Thursdays and/or Fridays depending on the week. Approximate number of open cases at any given time is 120. Approximate docket on Tuesday is 20-30 cases; Wednesday 6-7. Location: 19th Street District Courthouse, East Wenatchee, Douglas County, Washington. Minimum Qualifications: A member of the Washington State Bar Association in good standing. Previous Criminal Prosecution experience desired. Form of Application: Letter of interest; resume; proof of admission to the Washington State Bar Association and information regarding any other states where the applicant is currently or has previously been admitted.
